About MY ID CLUB
Being actively involved in the community we were able to see first-hand the numerous challenges faced by parents and guardians when trying to keep their children safe in today’s rapidly evolving world. The MY ID CLUB child safety program was created because of these observances in 1997 in Seattle, WA as a community service program of the King County Police Union. The MY ID CLUB identification card is designed to:
Provide an avenue that critical medical information can be passed to First Responders; e.g. Police or Fire personnel or Paramedics, along with any other trusted adult, in case of injury to the child. The MY ID CLUB card gives parents a measure of security knowing that their child’s emergency information is always close at hand.
The card also can be given to security personnel immediately, by the parent or the child, if they are temporarily separated, to ensure a speedy reunion; e.g. at the Mall or City carnival.
The MY ID CLUB card also helps to bridge the gap between children and Law Enforcement personnel. It can be used to reinforce the idea of “safe” people to approach in an emergency.
If you have any comments or suggestions regarding our MY ID CLUB program, or if you have utilized one of our cards in an interesting way, we would love to hear from you. We strive to continuously better our program and community relations. Please contact us using any of the following methods:
